Private Mode

We offer two modes: Private mode and Standard mode. Use Private mode for the highest privacy settings.

You can choose to use Wanroi.com in Private mode. When you are using Private mode, all telemetry is disabled, search histories are disabled, location queries are disabled, cookies are ignored, and all external calls go through our proxy. We do not share your location data or IP address with Service partners.

Information We Collect in Standard Mode

We collect any information that you provide to us, including when you create your account, submit your preferences, or contact us. We also collect information about your device and the ways you use and interact with our Services. We may collect a variety of information from or about you or your devices from various sources, as described below.

If you do not provide your information when requested, you may not be able to use our Services if that information is necessary to provide you with our Services or if we are legally required to collect it.

Early Access in Standard Mode When you sign up for early access, we ask you for your email address. Once you have signed up for early access, you may complete a waitlist survey. Completion of this survey is purely voluntary. If you choose to complete this survey, we will ask you for demographic information such as your general age, occupation, country, and race/ethnicity. We also ask for information regarding your purchasing and searching habits and any additional information you would like to provide. We use this information only to help ensure a representative sample for our beta testing population.

Refer a Friend. If you sign up for early access, you may choose to provide email addresses of friends or family who you would like to refer to the service. If you choose to do so, you acknowledge that you have permission to share this information with us.

Registration and Profile Information in Standard Mode. When you sign up for an account, we ask you for your name and email address.

Your Preferences in Standard Mode. As you use our Services, you have the option to provide us with additional information, such as your preferred online sources.

Device Information in Standard Mode We receive information about the device and software you use to access our Services, including internet protocol (IP) address, web browser type, operating system version, and device identifiers. We do not store IP addresses.

Usage Information in Standard Mode To help us understand how you use our Services and to help us improve them, we automatically receive information about your interactions with our Services, like the pages or other content you view, and the dates and times of your visits. Private mode differs significantly from this as described above.

Vendors and Service Providers in Standard Mode We may share any information we receive with vendors and service providers retained in connection with the provision of our Services. These vendors and service providers, including companies providing analytics services, have agreed not to sell, or otherwise share user data that they receive from us.

Third Party Integrations in Standard Mode Our Services will permit third party developers to build additional search applications that are integrated into the Wanroi.com search engine. We will only share your search query or additional information (such as IP address) if necessary to allow you to use the third-party search applications. For example, if you use a third-party weather or restaurant application, we may share your IP address with the third party so they can provide the correct information for your location. Services that require location are disabled in private mode and you need to provide it explicitly (e.g., “weather in London”).

As Required by Law and Similar Disclosures. We may access, preserve, and disclose your information if we believe doing so is required or appropriate to: (a) comply with law enforcement requests and legal process, such as a court order or subpoena; (b) respond to your requests; or (c) protect your, our, or others’ rights, property, or safety.
